What took me so long? I should have done this years ago!
Before I started training with Dave I was a good stone and a half over weight, and hugely unfit having done no voluntary aerobic exercise for a good 10 years. It was the usual story of a great social life, a fondness for baking (and eating), a pregnancy, and general laziness that had seen my weight increase and my dress size go up to a 16.
In January 2009 I made the decision that as I was fast approaching 37 I had to face facts - buy bigger clothes and continue to be tired and lethargic, or do something about it. I don't have a lot of free time, as it's split between work and family so I decided to go the personal trainer route and I found Dave. He told me I needed to train once a week to get results, and so I took the plunge... In the first eight weeks I lost 15lbs which was brilliant. To start with Dave got me to keep a food diary, which I sent him once a week, and that really kept me focused. I made some simple changes to my diet, cut back my caffeine and alcohol and this really increased my energy levels.
However, for me it wasn't all about short-term weight loss although that was great, but also about long-term health. I have continued to train with Dave once a week, and have lost just over 2 stone in weight, but many inches. I have a much better figure from the weight training, and bingo wings are a thing of the past! My stomach is flat, and my back much stronger - the S-shape posture I used to have has gone. I'm now a dress size 10-12 which I never in a million years thought I'd see again, and I can actually fit back into a ball dress I wore to my Lower VI form ball in 1989. I have also made a real effort to be more active in my daily life - taking stairs not lifts if in the office, walking more, and even going for the very occasional run. If you're prepared to put some hard work in, you'll get great results, and I can whole-heartedly recommend Dave.

I'm the wrong side of 35 and mother of two girls!
I started to get into fitness as an adult having had no interest through my school days. I moved to Kidlington in 1995 and a friend persuaded me to join her in a circuit class as a way to meet people. After a couple of years I joined the gym properly and continued to enjoy taking part in a variety of classes.
About 4 years ago I started to train with Dave. I needed something different to increase my motivation! My only goal was to enjoy what I was doing in the gym and work as hard
as I possibly could, and more! To start with each session was different from the last, and
deliberately, there wasn't a programme to follow. I soon realised I was seeing results in my body shape and tone and and that was predominantly down to one thing: weights! And there began a new love! I now concentrate on weights, mainly legs, (large muscle groups burn more calories!) and hold a 115kg squat as a personal best!

I have known Dave Brogan since shortly after he started his personal training work at Vida, Oxford Airport. I have found Dave's approach to personal training to be exactly what I need. I am in my mid-70s and my need is to maintain my physical fitness and, where possible, to improve it. Dave has a friendly, easy manner. He first worked with me to understand the objectives I have and then brought his considerable knowledge to bear to design an exercise programme for me.
Dave modifies the programme as my needs change from session to session. In the gym, Dave creates a positive, encouraging environment and he gets the best out of me. He even makes me look forward to my training sessions! The gym is no longer grim and boring: it is a cheerful place! I have no hesitation in recommending Dave Brogan as a personal trainer.
